But there's quite a few games out there (like SOMA and Outlast) that rely more on atmosphere and the chase and survival aspect to scare you than going "BLUHHHHH!!!!" in your face. I really hate jump scares and feel like lots of horror games employ them and loud noises and flashes as cheap scares, and that's why I haven't gotten into the genre much. If you end up getting caught and getting a game over, don't let it get to you, it's only a game, and you're very safe and in no real danger, and take a minute to breathe, maybe take a little break, but don't give up.

Try and take it in steps and not play too much at one time, but I got so into the ones I played I couldn't help it and ended up having a little trouble sleeping for a couple days, heheh.
